A file can be sent via mail to other members of your band or orchestra or to backup your scores.
Midi is a common way to exchange scores to play them e.g. on a workstation, etc.
Use Pdf to print your score or to share it with people not using ScoreToGo.
Load a score from a file
Navigate
Use this submenu to navigate within the score. Use
and
to move the selection (red marking) from one note to another
and
to move the selected note(s) a semitone up or down. When moving down, b notes will be used, otherwise # notes
to make a copy of all bars containg selected notes
to paste the bars copied with
to insert a bar before the currently selected bar. To insert a bar at the end use
by walking over the end of the score
to make the last change unhappen. You can do up to 10 undo steps
to delete selected notes. Keep pressing it to merge rests and finally delete bars containg only rests.
Display Mode
There are two display modes.
Flat Mode: The score is shown in a single line. This mode is convenient for entering
a score on small devices (e.g. a smartphone). When playing a score in Flat Mode, the score
is scrolled making sure, you can always see the current play position allowing you to play
along without any need for interaction.
Page Mode: The score is shown as if it us printed on paper. By zooming in and out, you
will also see the dimensions of the "paper" the margins, etc.. During playing, the score
is not scrolled.
Play
The play menu allows to play a score. It can be played from the score's start including all
repititions or from the first to the last selected note in a loop.
Play entire score from beginning to end including all repititions.
Play all bars with selected notes in a cylcle. If only a single note is selected
the score will be played in cycles from the bar with the selected not until the last bar.
Repitition and volta signs are ignored.
Stops playing. You can also stop by clicking anywhere in the score.
Toggle the metronome click on/off.
Toggle the piano sound playing the score on/off. This allowys you to play along to the metronome
click when exercising a score.
Piano
When pressing, the button row is replaced by the piano. Use the piano to enter notes.
Select in the drop down menu the duration of notes before playing them on the piano.
Click in an empty area of the score to get back the button row.
Beam / Flag
Toggle if the note shows a flag on the steam or a beam connecting it to the next note. This has only
impact on notes with a duration 1/8, 1/16 and so on, because only these notes have flags/beams.
Tie
Toggle showing/hiding a tie from the current note to the next note
To create a tie over multiple notes, select the first note by clicking and the last by double
clicking. Then press the tie button.
Stem Direction
Set direction of stem upwards
Set direction of stem downwards
Set direction to automatic. Dependent on the position of the note, the stem direction will be set automatically.
Stacked notes / Voices
Adds another note above the currently selected note. Use this to create chords.
Go to next higher voice. While stacked notes always have the same duration, notes in
different voices are independent in length. Adds a rest with the full length of the bar.
Move selection to the first note of the lower voice.
Tuplet
Creates a tuplet over the duration of the currently selected note with the selected amount of tuplet notes.
To get e.g. a triad with 8th notes, select a quarter note and press

Note / Rest
Toggle between note and rest.
Accidential
Choose a note's accidential.

Barline
Selects a single barline on the left
Selects a repitition barline on the left
Selects a single barline on the right
Selects a double barline on the right
Selects a end barline on the right
Selects a repitition barline on the right
Volta
Toggle first volta. Select notes in multiple bars to extend the volta over these bars.
Toggle second volta. Select notes in multiple bars to extend the volta over these bars.
Signature
Opens a selection of available signatures. Select multiple notes using double click to set the Signature
for multiple bars.
Clef
Sets the clef to "treble" for the selected bars
Sets the clef to "bass" for the selected bars
Sets the clef to "alto" for the selected bars
Time Signature
Opens a selection of available time signatures. Select multiple notes before clicking to set it for
multiple bars.
Text
Enter a chord to be shown above/below a note. The first character will be shown large, following characters will be in superscript. All characters following \ will be in subscript. There are some special charakter for symbol generation:
^: triangle symbol for major chord
O: deminished symbol for diminished chords
*: half deminished symbol for half diminished chords
Enter a finger number above a note
Enter a framed section text
Toggle showing the measure number
Enter lyrics above notes
Enter a number for beats per minute or verbal instructions like "andante"
Enter the score's title, which is also used for storing
Enter the score's author
Ornament
Select one of the offered ornaments
Articulation
Select one or multiple of the offered articulations

Select on of the coda symbols

Select one of the dynamic symbols

Here you will find options to format the score when displayed in page mode and for
the PDF export.

Instrument Lines
To create scores with multiple instrument lines, you will need the following buttons.
All instrument lines are tied together with a bracket at the beginning of each line.
Instrument lines can be created, deleted and rearranged.
Adds an additional instrument line.
Deletes the instrument line with currently selected notes. There always has to remain
at least one instrument line.
Move up a instrument line.
Move down a instrument line.
Settings
In the settings dialog, you can configure the overall look of your score and how the score is played.
Sheet Style: Choose which look you want for your score, classic or jazz.
Space Flat Mode: The higher the number, the more space will be between notes. Values below 1 will
compress the notes and might lead to overlapping notes.
Space Page Mode: The higher the number, the more space will be between notes. Values below 1 will
compress the notes and might lead to overlapping notes. In page mode, the look will also depend on the format commands used.
Paper Presets: By selecting a paper preset, all values below will be set automatically.
Units: Select the used units to be either millimeters or inches.
Size of staves...: Select the size of staves, notes, etc. compared to the paper width. Choose larger number to get big staves.
Page width: Width of the page in millimeters/inches
Page height: Height of the page in millimeters/inches
Left margin: Left margin on the paper kept free
Right margin: Right margin on the paper kept free
Minimum bottom margin: Margin at the paper bottom always kept free
Top margin of title: Margin from the paper top to the start of the title
Top margin of author: Margin from the paper top to the start of the author
Top margin of score, page one: Margin from the paper top to the start of the score on the first page
Top margin of score, following pages: Margin from the paper top to the start of the score on the following pages
Space between instrument lines: Area between instrument lines kept free. Only relevant, if your score has multiple instrument lines.
Space between score lines: Area between score lines kept free in millimeters. Multiple instrument lines can be clustered to a score line.
Font Size Title: Font size of the title in points
Font Size Author: Font size of the author in points
Font Size Chords: Font size of chords printed above notes in points
Font Size Lyrics: Font size of the lyrics printed above/below notes in points
Detune Audio: Semitones, audio output is pitched up for positive values and down for negative values.
Metronome Sound: Selects one of multiple sounds to be used as metronome sound
Metronome Volume: Changes the volume of the metronome output
